Illiteracy and the Domestic Worker: How Illiterate Workers Impact the Economy". Illiteracy in domestic workers has a negative effect on the productivity and the profitability of the economic sections in which these workers are employed. The effects of illiteracy among workers are myriad, involving everything from problems with management to accepting periodic changes in technologies. As illiteracy rates are increasing in unskilled worker populations, it is assumed that the problems relating to such workers will likewise increase.
